Arny Raedts studied photography as a part of a study in audio-visual design at several Dutch art schools. He began working as a photographer in early '80's, embarking on a inside portrayal of the local punk and hardcore scene. Long evenings in smal concert venues where followed by even longer nights in smal badly ventilated dark room. In addition to his work as a photographer he also tried his luck as a musician, cartoon artist and public relations manager.

Due to a sudden 'develloped' allergic reaction to photo chemical he was forced to take a break from his photo career. With the introduction of digital SLR's he started to pick up a camera again and combined his full time job in public relations with freelance photo work.

In 2001, he and his wife went on a honeymoon to the south-west of the USA. The start of an obsession with the old USA, ghostowns, carwrecks and the ever amazing desertlandscape. Since then, the couple have visited the south-west every year, sometimes even twice.

From 2004 to 2008 he worked on a book about his passion for the desert landscape and the remains of the old west. 'Desert[ed]' got excellent reviews in several magazines and other media.

His photo's have been published in international magazines, travelbooks and can be seen on numerous cd and dvd covers.

His work is available through international acclaimed stock agencies: Alamy and Photographers Direct. Or directly via the contactform on this website.
